Community Profile

This is a community focused on Hungarian musicals and operettas!

The community is open to join and you're welcome to start a discussion, post questions, show off your written or drawn fanwork, share edits/graphics, links to songs or clips, write a review about a performance or just about anything else that might be of interest to the members. Introduction posts are welcome, but no must.

The main language is English, but if anyone wants to post in Hungarian or German too, that's fine as well. A short English summary is appreciated to help the mod understand what is being said.

The definition of "Hungarian musical", for the purpose of the community, includes:
- Originally Hungarian-language musicals like the classic rockopera István, a kiraly
- Translated works like the Budapesti Operettszínház version of Rómeó és Júlia (a reworking of Presgurvic's musical Roméo et Juliette: de la Haine à l'Amour)

Operettas, like A Csárdáskirálynő/The Csárdás Princess by Kálmán Imre are welcome too, as are operas and other forms of theater with music.

Hungarian actors abroad are also within the scope of the community, like if you wish to compare Kámárás Máté's work as Death in Elisabeth in Hungary vs. Austria vs. Japan.

If you're going to Hungary and have theater questions, several member have experience of buying tickets in Budapest or other cities from abroad or as English-speakers, so feel free to ask for help.

Main rules: Don't be an asshole, don't go (too) off-focus and don't spam. If you post fanart or graphics, it's good to put multiple images behind cuts.
